How much do websites cost?

How long does it take to build a website?
The time it takes to design and develop a website can vary greatly based on a host of factors such as site size, complexity, features and client involvement. Small or simple sites can take as little as 6-8 hours to complete. While larger ones can be weeks or even months of production time.
What do you need from me to start the estimate process?
Please provide us with an overview of your site in bulleted outline form with as much detail on the pages and sections of the site as possible. Include any specifics on functionality that you are expecting. Also, provide a few examples sites that you like, timeline and any budget constraints.
Can I start with a smaller site and add to it as time goes on?
You sure can. Often times this is the best approach if you aren’t sure what direction you want to go with the site or if budgets are tight.
Do you do maintenance contracts with clients?

I have a web designer that I work with on all of my projects already. Can you work with them?
Yes. We work with all types of clients and businesses.
Can you help us with a website that was programmed or designed by someone else?
In most cases. We do work with all the major programming languages so most likely it will be something we can handle.
Is there a cost to get an estimate on my project?
No, estimates are free.
My current website was done in Flash by another developer. Can you help me update it?
Yes if you have the original .fla file. Without it you are most likely starting over.
Do you work on and/or create intranet sites?

I need a website that can be displayed on all current browsers and on mobile devices. Is that something you can do?
We can create sites that render nicely on all platforms. If your project requires this please let us know.
What is web hosting and do I need it?
Web hosting is a type of Internet service that allows individuals and organizations to make their website accessible on the World Wide Web. Zee Creative is a Web host that provides space on our servers for use by our clients as well as providing Internet connectivity to that server, typically in a data center. Without these pieces your website would not be able to be seen?
Can I host my site elsewhere?
Yes you can. Be sure to check what requirements your site needs to run. Static HTML sites can be hosted most anywhere. There can be benefits to hosting with your developer so be sure to weigh the pros and cons before making the move.
Do your web hosting plans include web statistics?
Our hosting plans include AWStats or Webalizer statistics as well as raw log files. For the best statistical information on your website we recommend adding Google Analytics to your website.
Do your hosting plans include any email accounts?

We are in a different state than you. Can you work via phone and email?
We work with clients remotely all the time via phone, email, Skype, chat, etc. We always enjoy the old face-to-face but we are comfortable working via other means as necessary.
I don’t know who hosts my site anymore. Can you help me find out where it is?
Yes. Usually though the domain records we can track it down. Just let us know if you need help with your domain.
Are your servers backed up?
Yes. Our servers are backed up daily to tape with weekly rotations.
Contact us if you need us to restore a file for you. If you have increased or additional backup needs we can setup a custom solution for you.
Do you offer static IP addresses?
Yes. For clients that require a static IP for ecommerce or other special need we can set up a static IP address. Static IPs are $15/month paid at the same interval as the hosting plan it is attached to.
Do you offer dedicated hosting solutions?
Yes we do. For clients that require specific needs, have heavy traffic or application loads a dedicated hosting solution is the right choice. Each server is built to suit the needs of the client. Let us know what you need and we’ll put together a quote.
Do you offer hosting solutions for both Windows and Linux?
Yes we do. Linux hosting is available in shared, semi-dedicated and dedicated. Windows hosting is only available in semi dedicated or dedicated. Plans listed on our
hosting page are shared Linux hosting only.
Can I setup subdomains?
Yes, our hosting plans support subdomains.
I have multiple domain names that I would like to point to my main domain. Can you set this up?
Yes, domain pointers are what you are looking for and they are free with any hosting plan.
What is a CMS?
CMS is short for content management system. A CMS allows a site owner to update data (text, photos, etc) on their site without needing to know HTML.
I would like to add a CMS to my site but am not sure it is worth the cost. Can you help me decide?
Weighing the cost of implementing a CMS system usually comes down to frequency of updates. If you are only updating your site a couple of times a year a CMS is probably not a good option. I would like to edit my own web site content such as adding photos, updating text and changing pricing without having to know code. Is that something you can setup for me?
Yes, a content management system (CMS) is probably what you need. Give us a call so we can help you assess your project and find the best fit.
I accidentally overwrote a file on my website. Is there a way to restore the file?
Probably. It depends on the interval between when the file was deleted and the last backup. If it existed when the last backup ran we can retrieve it for you. File restores from backup are $75/incident.
Can you add a content management system to an existing website?
Yes. Most every site can have content management added to it.
Can you help me integrate Facebook and Twitter into my web page?
Yes. Most of the tools are easy and inexpensive to implement. Let us know what you would like added and we’ll put together an estimate for you.
Can you help me setup my Facebook page?
Yes we can. Facebook is quite easy to use but can be initially intimidating for those that aren’t familiar with Social Media. Let us know if you would like some help.
Can you help me setup a blog?
We certainly can. Installing the software just takes a few minutes and you are up and running. If you would like us to customize the features or look of your blog just let us know.
Do I need to add social media to my site?
No. While social media offers many benefits it isn’t right for everyone - particularly those that don’t have much time to work on their sites. Please

My domain name has expired. What can I do?
If it hasn’t been too long since it has expired it can be relatively simple and inexpensive to retrieve. If some time has passed it may have been purchased by another individual or be in a locked stage by the domain registrant. Contact us if you need help with your domain – we can help.
My previous developer/designer reserved my domain name under his name. Am I stuck finding a new domain?
Very rarely will you be forced to find a new domain name. Please contact us if you find yourself in this situation and we will help you determine what is the best course of action.
I lost my domain information and login can you help me?
Yes. Most times this requires a bit of paperwork to satisfy the domain registrant but rarely a difficult process.
How long does it take for my domain to come up once the DNS has been flipped?
It can take 24- 72 hours for DNS propagation to occur but can be as little as a few hours. In rare cases you may need to restart your computer to force your PC to see the updates. Let us know if you are having trouble during or after a site/domain move.
How do I find out what domain names are available?
You can use our

Do you offer SSL certificates?

I need a merchant account for processing online payments. Can you assist me with that?
Yes, we are an Authorize.net reseller and can help you through the entire process. If you already have a merchant account and just need help integrating it with your site we can help as well.
What is PCI compliance and does it apply to my site?
The Payment Card Industry, which includes MasterCard and Visa, require: banks, online merchants and Member Service Providers (MSPs) to protect cardholder information. This is done by adhering to a set of agreed upon security standards. The Payment Card Industry security standard (PCI) includes MasterCard's Site Data Protection (SDP) program and Visa's Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP). This applies to in-house handling of credit card data as well as online.
I don’t have much of a budget but need to sell products online. Are there any options for me?
There are some low cost solutions out there. The best one in our opinion is PayPal. Their Website Payments Standard plan is still quite hard to beat for cost and options.
Do I need a static IP address?
If you are doing ecommerce with something other than PayPal, probably. Give us a call and we will help you assess your project.
